"The most effective way of making people
accept the validity of the values they are
to serve is to persuade them that they are
really the same as those which they...
have always held, but which were not
properly understood or recognized before.
And the most efficient technique to this
end is to use the old words but change
their meaning. Few traits of totalitarian regimes
are at the same time so confusing to the superficial
observer and yet so characteristic of the whole
intellectual climate as the complete perversion
of language, the change of meaning of the words
by which the ideals of the new regimes are expressed."

CTED has scheduled a set of four workshops as part of the review and update of the administrative rules governing the GMA.

We are seeking final comments on the proposed scope of work, on the proposed rule structure and on key concepts that will guide the update of existing rules and the development of new rules.

The workshops will be held throughout the state:

VANCOUVER
Monday, March 31 9:00am to Noon
Water Resources Education Center
4600 SE Columbia Way, Vancouver, WA 98663

MOUNT VERNON
Thursday, April 3 9:00am to Noon
WSU Extension Office
16650 State Route 536, Mount Vernon, WA 98273

TACOMA
Friday, April 4 9:00am to Noon
University of Washington Campus

1900 Commerce Street, Tacoma, WA 98402

SPOKANE
Thursday, April 24 9:00am to Noon

800 W Spokane Falls Blvd. Spokane, WA 99201

Please plan to attend one of these workshops to let us know what you think about the proposed scope of work, the proposed organization and key concepts for drafting revised and new rules. Enclosed is the Save the Date card you can distribute to others you know who might be interested in attending.

It would help with preparations to know how many plan to attend each session. So please let us know which one you would like to attend.
